Guide to Chichasaw Counc.il Camps

INTRODUCTION
This booklet contains guidelines for the use of camping properties operated by the Chickasaw
Council, Boy Scouts of America. The Chiekasaw Council operates three camping properties Camp Currier, near Eudora, Mississippi, Camp Tallaha, near Charleston, Mississippi, and Kia
Kima Scout Reservation, near Hardy, Arkansas.

TOUR PERMIT POLICY
If your pack, troop, team or post plans an outing, other than a day "field trip" in or near your
town, a tour permit is required. Tour permits establish high standards of health and safety for
your unit, and assure parents and the council that your tour will be wisely planned, safe and fun
For an outing within 500 miles of home base, a local tour permit is required. If the unit plans to
travel more than 500 miles from homebase or outside the continentalrUnited States, a national
tour permit is required.

The Local Tour Permit Application (No. 34426) must be filed with Council Service Centerg[
lea,pt two wgEkl in advance of the scheduled activity for proper clearance. These applications will
be forwarded to the Council Health and Safety Committee or Camping Committee for review
before a permit is issued. The local tour permit will serrve as yourperrmit to use one of the
Chickasaw Council camps.
The National Tour Permit Application (No. 34419) must be filed with the Council Service
Center at least one month before the activity. The Council Service Center will forward it to the
BSA's Southeast Regional Service Center for final approval.
