THE NATIONAI STAFF CONFERINCE

There should. have been televlsion and rrtolehearingrt sets beamed toward all of you men
last week out of Bear Mountaln, the site of the National Staff Conference. Your
Reglonal men were alJ. there along with al.l. Home Offlce men. rrHow to Get the Program
of Scouting to the Boytt was not only the theme of the Conference - it was the life
of the Conference. From the time that Dr. Fretwell gave the rrState of the Unionrr on
Saturday night r:rrtil Drtght Ramsay, Conference Chai:man, banged the gavel for adjourzlnent the following Frlday noon, it was all trHow.tr It was my first Conference. Itn
sold on th:is gang. They know their stuff. Everyone of them has had Local Council
oxperlenee. Better than 90% of them have been Scoutmasters and they lnclude more
fo:mer Scouts than non-Scouts. Out of the Conference will cone a Program of Action.
There is a deteminatlon, too, to nake 1t work. It wlL1 be concise. It will definltlze all of our Jobs. Yourll be hearing from the Chief about 1t soon.

THE NATIONAI STAFF CONFERINCE
December L2, 19/+6
There should. have been televlsion and rrtolehearingrt sets beamed toward all of you men
last week out of Bear Mountaln, the site of the National Staff Conference. Your
Reglonal men were alJ. there along with al.l. Home Offlce men. rrHow to Get the Program
of Scouting to the Boytt was not only the theme of the Conference - it was the life
of the Conference. From the time that Dr. Fretwell gave the rrState of the Unionrr on
Saturday night r:rrtil Drtght Ramsay, Conference Chai:man, banged the gavel for adjourzlnent
the following Frlday noon, it was all trHow.tr It was my first Conference. Itn
sold on th:is gang.
It will definltlze
all of our Jobs. Yourll be hearing from the Chief about 1t soon.
