KAMP KIA KIMA STAFF iJmOUUCED

Mr. R. G. Ramsay, Chairman of the Kamp Kia Kima Committee,
says that the Staff for 1933 is one of the best tr.eKamp has ever had. Kamp
opens on June 17th for an eight weeks' season and under the leadership of
such an outstanding group of vertern Scouts and Campers there is ~~e to be
plenty of fun and frolic all of the time.
If you haven't put in your application, now is the time to
do $0. Nearly 50 Scouts have ~eady indicated they will go to Ka~p and
with the season cut down from ten to eight weeks, it is advisable to get
your application in early.
Gordon sprott, of Leland, Miss., a real K. K. K. veteran,
will be Camp Director.
The new Chief is an Eagle Scout with 72 Merit
Badges, a former Scout Executive, a graduate of Mississippi state College
and of the National Training School of Scout Executives.
He has attended
K. K. K. for nine years, six of which he was on the staff. He is an expert swimmer, being an Examiner for the American Red Cross in Life Saving.
If you want to learn some real stunts in the water the Chief can show you
how. For the past three years the Chief has been Camp Director at Camp
Sequoah, near Johnson City, Tenn. He is an expert in woodcraft and nature
lore and his specialty is games.
John W. Williams, who will graduate in June from the
University of Tennessee, College of Medicine, will be Camp Physician.
is a real Scout and his training as an Interne in the clinic of Dr.
Willis c. Campbell ma~es him ideally suited for his position.

Doc

Andrew Wray, Eagle Scout of Troop 14, with 33 Merit Badges,
will again look after the lIeatsli. Andy has been at Kamp every year for
8 years and he really knows how to put out good food.,
At K. K. K. all of the Scouts are organized into Tribes,
each having an Indian name. The traditiorilllnames are Pawnee, Sioux and
Iroquois. these being the names of three of the most famous Indian Tribes
in American history. Aehley Wilson, Eagle Scout of Troop 7, with 46
Merit Badges, is Tribe Leader of the Powerful Pawnees. Ash is a 5 year
veteran at Kamp and he knows his stuff.
.The Son3D.tiOl'lnl Sioux ;'i[i 11 have Fritz Schultz, another
veteran Camper, for their Leader. The HBaron von Schultzll
is an Eagle Scout with 30 Merit Badges and a lot of camping
experience.
He really puts the "out" in Scouting.

Taken by and large the 1933 Staff is an exceptional one in
