D I VISION -OF HOTEL AND RESTAURANT INSPECTION

October 1, 1951

Mr. Ed Dalstrom, Chairman
Inter Racial Committee
Chickasaw Council, B S A
345 South Front Street
Memphis 1, Tennessee
Dear Mr. Dalstrom:
Returning to my desk this morning I find your letter of
September 25 with reference to your Negro Scout program at T. o. Fuller
State Park.
I intended to contact you last week as I spent most of the
time in Memphis working on the museum at Shelby Forest State Park.
You may use T. o. Fuller as you see fit during the fall, winter and
spring for your Scouts at no cost except as you might use the kitchen.
There the fees are $10.00 the first night and $5. 00 the second night
·
plus any breakage fees.
We are very anxious to see the camp activities of the Scouts
improve and particularly are we desirous of making our facilities
available on the week-ends to supervised camping groups. We have
out-fitted the recreation hall with cots and mattresses and these can
be used by your group with no charge. Of course we expect the lea.ders
to be responsible and to arrange their schedules with the Superintendent,
Mr. Albert Harris.
I will be contacting you again shortly on other camp activities
in the Memphis area and I will sincerely appreciate your suggestions
or criticisms of our park facilities.
Sincerely yours,
