                  <text>Opening Narration:
The Order of the Arrow is an Honor camper Organization founded in 1915
at the Treasure Island, Pennsylvania Scout Camp by Dr. E. Urner Goodman
and Carroll A. Edson. Ahoalan Nachpikin Lodge #558 is the local Order of
the Arrow Lodge serving the Chickasaw Council.
The purposes of the Order of the Arrow are to: recognize those campers
who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives, develop and
maintain camping within the unit, and to crystallize the scout habit of
helpfulness into a life purpose of leadership in cheerful service to others.
One of the Traditions that the Order of the Arrow seeks to preserve is that of
the American Indian’s culture and customs. This is accomplished through
the use of Native American clothing and the implementation of several
specialized ceremonies.
Tonight, Ahoalan Nachpikin Lodge # 558 will present an Indian Dance
Pageant and Callout ceremony. This is a solemn occasion and we ask that
you maintain the strictest silence and refrain from applauding during the
proceedings. Also please turn off pagers, cellular phones and other
potentially disruptive electronic devices.

Meteu:
We are gathered here together
In the midst of this great forest
Underneath the stars above us
Gathered now, to help and serve
Cheerfully, in all our actions
Lovingly, in our reflections
As the smoke curls, winding upward,
May our thoughts and actions, rising,
Fill us all with acts of goodness
And Direct, and rule, and guide us
In our work and thoughts this evening.
Let there be fire!
Music: The Ecstasy of Gold

Calling song/Grand entry
Flag song:
“Our first song this evening is a Native American Flag song. It is the
Indian equivalent of our national anthem. We ask that everyone
please stand for this song.
“You may now be seated.”
War Dance
“The following is a war dance. A war dance should not be confused
with the intent of going to war, but rather a song for the dancers to
show off their talents and abilities.”
Brotherhood Recognition
“Brotherhood membership in the Order of the Arrow is a very
noteworthy yet seldom recognized level of membership in the Order of
the Arrow. To become a Brotherhood Member, one must serve their
Lodge for at least ten months and have a complete understanding of
the ceremonies and signs of membership in the Order of the Arrow.
Tonight, Ahoalan Nachpikin #558 wishes to recognize its newest
Brotherhood members:
Would everyone who got their brotherhood this week please stand as
we honor your accomplishments with the next song.”
Veterans Song
“Our last song this evening is the Veterans’ Song. The Veterans’ Song
is sung by the Indian people to honor the men and women who have
served in the armed forces. They have served on battlefields all over
the world, keeping our shores safe while we sleep. We should reflect
and remember the brave souls who have insured that the Stars and
Stripes may proudly fly over the land of the free. We ask that all
veterans in the audience please stand to be recognized during this
song.”
“You may now be seated.”
And now, we will begin to recognize those who have been selected by their troops for
membership in to the great and honored Order of the Arrow.
